Rozetta Marie...

Rozetta Marie was born and raised in Brooklyn NY where she gained all of her prior experience and training in the arts. She started out in modern dance with the National Dance Institute, where she performed under the instruction of Jacques D’Amboise for 4 years at venues such as Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center, and BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). While in school she also studied other forms of dance such as Jazz, Spanish, and African.

Eventually she discovered her love for music and began to pursue her career in that direction. Rozetta Marie has been going strong with her vocal and writing skills since she was 12 years old, each piece better than the last. She started out singing with 2 of her friends, Ebonie and Nikki, where the highlight of their career was performing on Video Music Box's talent competition where they came in 3rd. Eventually the group dwindled down to a duet with just Rozetta and Nikki. Together they performed at a variety of block parties, fashion shows, and night clus like that Neuyorican Poets Cafe in NYC where they performed their (never released) single "Alright". Rozetta soon realized her career was going in another direction and went solo. She has performed as a vocal artist at fashion shows, cable television shows, political events and the highlight of her career so far was performing as one of the opening acts for a Vikki Winans concert in NY. Rozetta Marie’s voice can take you from one emotion to the next and at the same time subliminally send you a message that can change your life. The resident tone in her voice mixes with a new a variety of styles, such asGospel, Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, and Soft Rock, which justifies her to describe herself as “Unclassified”. She can do it all and still stay on the subjects of inspiring your soul.

Music is her life but she also loves to model and act on the side. “Whatever it takes to get my voice heard”. She not only speaks to us vocally thru song, but also through her photos. When you look into her eyes it is like she is speaking right to you and pulling you into the scene with her. Her eyes are alluring, her body makes you forget what you are doing and where you are, and her smile makes you forget all of your problems.

I was put on this earth not for myself, but for you who need a friend, a word of encouragement, or just someone who can say ‘I’ve been there too’. Everything I do is to either bring you into my world or to inspire you. Every song I sing, every role I play, and every pose I strike is letting you know the real me. I'm determined to keep striving until I reach the world, and I refuse to stop until I do. I am ‘Unclassified’ because I’m not here on just one assignment, but to make many moves in many directions. God has given me many gifts and talents that I MUST make full use of, and stand on tHIS word – ‘Neglect not the gift that is in thee…’”
